So, I have a question for those out there reading my blog today. What do you think of Kate Gosslin on Dancing With the Stars? I have very mixed feelings about her and I always have. At times I feel sorry for her and all that she has had to endure in the public eye. On the other,I think she was very ugly and hateful to her husband on their show and brought a lot on herself. Then again I do not know what it is like to have that many kids and can not comprehend what that kind of stress is. I can also only imagine what a TV camera would pick up in my house with the way I talk to my kids and husband at times. I did like how she handled some things in her daily routine and found it interesting. I do think that she is a good mom and loves her kids. That being said, I am not sure what I think of her being on this show. She is a mom who was on a reality TV show. How much of her fame has been her exploiting her childen? I know the show helped them pay for things they never would have been able to afford and I don't judge that. But now with the book tours and doing this show how much time is being taken away from her children. Plus she was terrible on Monday nights show. One judge even said, that she understood that she is not an actor or performer and that has come as a disadvantage to her. That is right! She is not a star. She is a mom that did a reality show on TLC! The mom in me is excited and thinks, "You go girl!" as she represents all of us moms out there. But then the other part of me feels like, "Your not a star! Go home and take care of your kids." Plus I heard on the radio about of all of the money she spent on plastic surgery to get ready for the show. Now again, I am not anti plastic surgery. I thought it was cool that a doctor donated his services to fix her stomach after carrying all of those babies. I mean someday I would like to have work done to fix somethings that pregnancy has done to my body. But she had her eyes done, cheeks done and other things to get ready for this show! She is only in her 30's! Why would she need all of this done? Plus I thought she looked great before she had additional work done. Again I think every woman should do things to make herself feel and look great and be the best that they can be. But how much is excessive? I don't know. I am very torn in how I feel and wondered what other's opinions are.

I am torn on this, too. Everyone is an individual. Everyone, including stars are people, just people. Pamela Anderson is a mother of two boys (probably teenagers by now). Kristi Yamaguchi was a mother of two or three herself. Just because they have fame, they are just mothers and people, too. So, Kate is a mom and a person. Now, a single parent. She receiving an inital 150K to do the show, and for every week she stays on the show, she gets more money to support her family. Everyone makes decisions on how to financially support thier family. She chose this life style and this way to do so. Overall, it is decision that she has to face with our Lord.

I see what you are saying and I agree the money is a way she supports her family. I think that my major complaint is not with her but that they have reality stars on Dancing with the Stars. She is not. Plus my issue is with all of the work she had done to get on the show. But to each his own. Just wondering what others were feeling. Pamela Anderson and her stripper dances are another story for this years Dancing cast. Thanks for inputing.
She continues to pursue a career on TV. She says she has found her niche in life on camera.
Yet, on every other show she proves again and again that she is not an entertainer. Her kids and her response to them is entertaining. And without them she is a bore.
And she was as hateful to her dance partner as she ever was to her husband and kids. It is really her.
The plastic surgery is a symptom of her selfishness. Would you continue to put yourself at risk and therefore your kids everytime you go under sedation in the OR?
If she wants to give her kids opportunity then stuff the money in the bank for their college and live a normal life.

I think she should go home. Her kids are dealing with a divorce. Their mom is in LA and they are probably being raised by nanny's. Maybe the should move into a little smaller house...
I feel her children are the ones that are suffering the time away from their mommy. Divorce I can imagine is hard on the "average" children, but it must be especially hard on the Gosselin's two older girls since their lives were pretty much shown on t.v. with both parents not showing their best sides.
Kate, go home! Your children need you now to shape who they will be in the future.
See I agree with you guys. I am not a mom that thinks that our entire lives get put on hold for our kids. Moms that don't take care of themselves and keep pursuing their own interests get lost. But I think that she has really taken this to the extreem and is playing both sides. She plays the mom card that she is only devoted to her kids and then is all over TV. Your right who has her kids. My other thing is that when you watch the first episodes of their show talks about how involved they were with their church and how much their church reached out to them. They had a lot of expences and were stuggling before the royalties of the show kicked in. Their church helped them financialy (not sure if that is spelled right.) and then I never saw anything in later episodes of how they gave back to the church when they were better off financially or even their involvement with the church. Not place to judge because I don't know just something that bothered me.
I heard that they built a "dance studio" in her basement; so she is not always in LA for rehersals. I also agree that for the time being, she should really concentrate on her family, her kids. However, I try really hard not to be so judgemental because I do not know, really know her circumstances. I can't always believe everything that has been said in the media. And, I have not walked a mile in her shoes. I just believe that God will judge her on judgement day. It is not place. I have my opinion that she should take care of her children first, but who am I to say how she accomplishes that. I would like for her to be out of the media and just rely on herself. But for someome who tasted fame and probably doesn't have any real skills for the real world, maybe this is the only way she knows how. I am not trying to stick up for, I just know that I can't be that harsh in judgement. Again, I don't know everything that goes on, and I have not walked a mile in her shoes to really know and speak what she should do.
